No doubt one of the most stressful weeks in history. thank god it'd friday. and for the first time in a forever, i've got saturday off.....so i'm sleepin in. HELL YEAH! The suck part is i'm getting the flu. but it's to be expected after the enormity of this week.

So the subject line. I have no idea what it means.....yet. All I know is i'm suppose to meet Stephen at the MTR at 9:30 for a suprized. His exact words i think were. I have you booked in Wanchai at 9:30. It wont be a late night and it wont cost you any money. and there will be no drinking

Now to me that means pool....but Lisa and a number of her friends are invited as well. and i'm not too sure if they are keen on pool. we'll find out in 3 hours.

I hope i post again as a happy, rested, sick free smash attack.

oh ps my cantonese is getting a lot better.

kids kids kids

The kids have been insane this week. well, when are they never insane. we've been talking about desire, and mostly they desire money. or they didnt do their homework and they have a dollar on them so they desire money. but a few of them really thought about it. One kid wants to win a gold medal in the 2012 olympics, one wants to win the rugby world cup, be fencing champs, cheifs, singers, good stuff came from it.

The funniest thing that i think happened was *suprize suprize* 2D and they're desire of money. thing they said they could buy with money

more stuff, cds, dog, house, chicken (which means prostitute), good life, house, clothes, education, Ms. Barrow. which was immedialty followed by a second mention to the large ness of my breasts.

Cheeky Monkeys. Speaking of Cheeky Monkeys' I had a 5 year old call another 5 year old a cheeky monkey in the proper context. It was awesome! Mr. Wong. the Eng. Dept, head at LTFC asked me the other day what my plans for next year were. Told him i was thinking about going home. he said no stay at least one more year, we need you here and the kids love you. THAT made me feel fantastic! it was good.

The teachers at the school have started warming up to us. so that's cool too. i think i'm starting to get a cold. these days are real tired days. that's why i dont really post much anymore. i lack the energy.

speaking of always busy. got to go to a lesson.

Today one of my best mates in the world is heading outta HK into a new chapter of life. and what better way to say good bye than a good old fashion party. Dinner in Rat Alley, dancing in Lan Kwai Fong. I haven't had that much fun ummm..since my birthday. (or the 7-11 crawl, cant remember which came last) Boy did i dance up a storm. and i think i may have drank a little too much. Damn though it was soo much fun. Dont know why i dont do that more often

i just had two cops knock on my door. asking how many people live here and why i didn't have my door locked. i was going to say, i trust that someone's not just going to walk in. but that would have made me look stupid, cuase now that i say it it is kinda stupid, so i just said, i forgot to lock it....which is also true cause i had my hands full at the time. eh. whatcha gonna do?

the did tell me to lock the door straight away. and i obligized them

this has been the most insane 3 weeks. i've been so unbelievably busy. double booked nearly every day. IT"S GREAT!!! I just wrapped a show as SM. and i'm about to start a show as ahem*actor*ahem. my kids are doing fantastically. way better than before at any rate. all my form 5 kids are off in to exams then that have to take the HKCEE. i wish them all the best of luck in the world. that test is a nightmare. funny things keep happening in my class....there was the incident of "say a fucking word that starts with A asshole" and then the, you look like Rose from Titanic. (dont understand that one) Um, the BrokeFront Mountian scene. "WE LOVE YOU MS. BARROW" that was classic. they set me up pretty good some times. they're real clever. the cheeky little buggars. they're good kids. i'm also sorta involved in an impro troupe. and have somehow become the leader of the thing, heaven help me. its fun though i love doing it. i just dont know how qualified to do that i am. but i'll give it a whirl.

i've decided that i'm way too nice for my own good some times. either that or i'm whipped but a friend of mine wanted to see a movie last sunday. no biggie. here's the catch 9:00 AM!!!!!!! WTF? why see a movie at 9AM on the only day off of work. but being the ever didicated friend. i was at the cinema at 9. though i didnt really wake up until like 4 in the avo. eh, what ever

i really want to just go to sleep and not wake up until 5 tomorrow morning, but i've got a date with a friend later. alas, sleep will never come. I guess there's plenty of time for that when i'm dead.

You're the United Nations!

Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to
completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long
way to go.  You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each
other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of
beating each other about the head and torso.  Sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result.  But your heart
is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.

okay so yesterday was a strange day at LTFC. Crazy things kept happening, but all in all it was a great day. In one of my classes i started Unit three, Impro. I was trying to explain this one exercise and this boy was being naughty so i said, Gary!. the whole class exploded, His name is Brian, His name is Brian. So i Said Brian! he said no my name is Toliet. Okay Toliet, be quite and listen. and from then on every kid being naught got a new name. in the end i had GIGGLES, WASHROOM, TOOTHPICK, CHEESEBALL, LUNCHBOX, DAISY (for a boy) LOLLIPOP, and the ever popular, OLD MATE. (which was used for many a kid. It was so funny. the kids got an absolute kick out of it. So funny!

Today was even more of a riot. 4GS was tripping me out! you have no idea. so funny. they're great kids, even though i want to kill them some times.

well, i gotta get ready for my date with the Hot One. Take it easy

cheers

WHITE
WHITES are motivated by PEACE, seek independence

and require kindness. They resist

confrontation at all costs. (Feeling good is

more important than being good.) They are

typically quiet by nature, they process

things very deeply and objectively, and they

are by far the best listeners of all the

colors. They respect people who are kind, but

recoil from perceived hostility or verbal

battle.

WHITES need their quiet independence and refuse to

be controlled by others. WHITES want to do

things their own way, in their own time. They

ask little of others, and resent others

demanding much of them. WHITES are much

stronger than people think because they dont

reveal their feelings. WHITES are kind,

non-discriminate, patient and can be

indecisive, timid, and silently stubborn.

When you deal with a WHITE, be kind, accept

(and support) their individuality, and look

for nonverbal clues to their feelings.

Hello from china

  • Jan. 27th, 2006 at 2:47 PM
a
i'm writing to you from a really neat internet caffee in china. we paid 10 chinese dollars for one hour. th'ats like 3 hong kong which is less than 50cents US. its crazy under developed yet sophictocated in a only what's necessary way. the folks are so kind and inviting. every time we turn around they are giving us some thing. this is probably the dirtiest place i've ever been too but it's totally cool. we made friend this morning with the kids in the village. teaching them clapping games and talking to them. I'm sure they had ad great big laugh at our expence. but then again we had one at theres. I feel like a rock star. people stare at us everywhere we go. Seriously we are probably the first westerners they have ever seen in real life. the food here is great to, and load of it for next to nothing. We had a huge meal yester day for only 5 chinese dollars. again less than 80cents US. it was very filling and the best wontons i've ever had. we are going to buy some firecrackers today. go back to the place we are staying and play with the kids some more. We are staying in a really old village. the house by american standards looks as though it should be condemed. but its fully functioning with electricty running water tv etc....the toliet is a squat toliet and the shower is directly above. there's this cover you put over the toliet so that you can take a shower. i'll take a pic perhaps and send it when i'm back in hong kong. Mrs. Lan cooks over an open flame. litterally there is a fire in the kitchen and she cooks over it. very simple and simply brilliant. the big day is sunday. Fireworks non stop for ages. We may not be bothered to come to a caffee again so dont count on daily or every few days emails, but we'll see how we're goin. I need to just expreince this and get it all out in one big long email. but i really love china.

taking a small step back. it took us a good 5 hours to get here by bus from HK. my mates, Keith and Stephen and I have just had a ball together. So much fun. more and better things to come once i'm home again. i really just need to think about what to say about it all. and i only have a limited amount of time.

Cheers
Ash

7-11 Crawl

  • Jan. 22nd, 2006 at 11:24 AM
a
For those of you who don't know. A Crawl is this: Pick point A and Point B. walk from A to B doing something at a certian place. In this case, stoping to drink at every 7-11 along the way. 10-12 in total. I can't really remember, last night was all a blur. and i'm still feeling it at the moment.

SO our crawl, consisted of 6 participants. all from Dramatic English. and in the typical theatre people fashion at each 7-11 we played a drama game. Said game was representitive of that particular Sevies. Team become "worship sean" at the sevies under his flat. "Hooray for Frog boy" at the second one.

Here's the story behind that. we wer sitting there drinking. There was a police van near by Sean says "Oi, Dani go stand in front of the cop car." I said I'll do it. so there's a pretty sexy picture of that coming soon. anyway. after the picture Sean looks a cross the road and theres this kid hopping up and down the side walk. We just could not work out what he was doing. he'd stop a bit, stretch out his legs and keep hopping, he'd "catch a fly" etc.. the whole time he was on the phone. So we worked out that he lost a bet. We wanted that Sevies pic to be with frog boy but he was real embarrased and wouldn't talk to us. SO our pic was the evolution of frog boy. it was funny.

we also did, a hustle, this is boaring, death in a minute, human props, voices from heaven. and the list goes on. Well i got bored by the next to last Sevies. i was like we either need to go sing or dance, but we've got to do something more active. So we went to Fenwicks. Ph was a bit pissed about that cuase he's sorta been banned from there, but the two of us were able to just waltz in so it ended up being good. We danced for ages. (until the band started sucking and dani and i split. let the boys be boys) all these old mates kept coming up and dancing with us. Dani and i were like wtf? it was funny. Esp. when we started doing styilized dancing.

Aiyah, my head is pounding. Oh but it was SO fun. I think we're going to make them a monthly affair. SWEET!

cheers
